Following a history-making 33rd consecutive win in her final race, beloved horse, Winx has declined to make any public comments about her state of mind.
The champion mare has reportedly also said “nay” to a press conference later this evening.
However, Winx’s trainer and close personal friend, Chris Waller wasn’t surprised that the touching finale to her career left the record-breaker lost for words.
“She’s very humble” Waller told Seems Legit.
“I’d like to think I know her as well as anyone, and vice-versa, but I’ll admit that it’s often hard to get a word out of her after a race”.
Legendary race caller, Bruce McAvaney, who needed a private moment himself after the remarkable victory, was rumoured to have secured a one-on-one interview with Winx for prime-time TV.
“Don’t you just want to hear her answer the big questions?” said McAvaney.
But it’s believed Bruce’s comments that AFL star, Cyril Rioli should have replaced Hugh Bowman as the jockey for her final run, and describing Cyril riding Winx to be ‘everyone’s ultimate fantasy’, has allegedly damaged their relationship too much for the TV special to go ahead.
Fans shouldn’t despair though, with it being believed that Winx is set to release a tell-all book about her career in the coming months.
