A night of ‘Netflix and chill’ has gone horribly wrong for Connor (27) after it became apparent he needs to pause the text parts of films because otherwise they disappear before he’s finished reading them.
“They go really fast” claimed Connor during the prologue in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
“They really don’t” said Sarah (25), Connor’s date for the evening.
Connor went on to explain that he wouldn’t even bother trying to watch a movie with subtitles for the same reason.
“It’s a joke!”
“The whole point of movies is so you don’t have to read. I’m hardly the one to blame here”.
However, it turned out that needing to pause sections of the film wasn’t his only issue.
“He painstakingly vocalises every word while he’s reading it” Sarah told Seems Legit.
“It sounds like he’s a 6-year-old foreign exchange student who’s just started learning how to read English.
“Although I guess this gives him a bit of an excuse when he takes hours to respond to a simple text message.
“The guy probably spends the whole time reading it aloud before he can reply”.
Fortunately, Netflix has an alternative solution for those at Connor’s reading level, so he’ll be sticking with the ‘Kids’ profile to avert disaster in the future.
