Trump Claims It Was Opposite Day

Trump Opposite Day

U.S. President, Donald Trump has clarified his controversial remarks that were made during a joint press conference with Vladimir Putin, about Russia allegedly meddling in the 2016 election.

“I have President Putin. He just said it’s not Russia. I will say this, I don’t see any reason why it would be” said Trump at the press conference.

Since this time, the former reality TV star and current reality President has claimed his statement was misunderstood, because it was Opposite Day.

“After all this backlash in the media, I was talking to my guys, and I said ‘what? they don’t know it was Opposite Day? I can’t believe they didn’t know’. That’s what I told my guys, they’re great guys, they couldn’t believe it either.

“As you know, because it was opposite day, I meant the opposite of everything I said, so clearly I meant that ‘I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia’ not would”.

Opposite Day was largely thought to be a fictional holiday used by children to retroactively negate what they just said, until its existence was confirmed by President Trump.

“I wish I could have told you all it was Opposite Day and avoided this misunderstanding, believe me.

“But obviously if you say ‘it’s Opposite Day’ on Opposite Day, it would mean it’s not Opposite Day, that’s why I didn’t say it. Anyway, I’m glad I could clear all that up”.
