Guy Flees Party To Escape Awkwardness Of Waiting In Line To Greet Birthday Girl

After arriving alone at the 28th birthday drinks for a work colleague named Jane, Simon was stuck behind several people in a queue to say hello to the host.

“I couldn’t see anyone else I knew, so greeting Jane was the only available choice” said Simon.

“There were only two people in the line to wish her a happy birthday, so it seemed like it would be a manageable level of awkwardness”.

A witness told Seems Legit that although Simon was clearly uncomfortable, he was holding up okay until Jane’s boisterous netball friends came from nowhere for a group hug and usurped her attention for an extended period of time.

“I was waiting at least eight minutes. I tried fake laughing at a bad joke I overheard, I pretended to look at non-existent messages on my phone, I even gave staring at the TV showing Indian hockey a shot, but in the end the only option was to flee the scene”.
